Roger L. Douchand Sr. Design Consultant, Oriental Rug Specialist & Appraiser.
As a member of Steinhafels Furniture I proudly run one of the largest Rug Galleries in Chicagoland. It all began back in 1986 when I started my career in the floor covering industry, and for almost four decades I've had the privilege of working with some of the most prestigious names in retail such as Bloomingdales, Marshall Fields, and Macys. I've worked on Area Rug Design Projects in markets from the Florida Keys to New York, and across the Midwest to way out west in California. In 2008 I designed a Learning Module called Oriental Rug Basics; Form, Fashion, & Function for the Textiles Class at The Harrington College of Design in Chicago. Throughout my extensive career, I've assisted many wonderful people and Top Tier Interior Designers with incredible projects across the United States. During this time I came to understand that designing with rugs can be one of the most challenging processes for a lot of people. With that in mind, I tasked myself to making the process of selecting the right Area Rug(s) easy, and I'm very happy to say I succeeded!

I don’t thank people for their “business”, that’s so impersonal! I thank you for allowing me the privilege of getting to know you, and allowing me to become your friend. I love Area Rugs, and I love making new friends. You see this isn’t just a job to me, it’s a way of life!
